First Meeting of the Chapter of the Medical School

Nowadays, the adjective 'historic' is very often abused. When something is allegedly important it is said to be of 'historic importance'. I try to avoid such lofty expressions but today, let me use it. Our meeting is of historic importance – said Rector Stanisław Nicieja opening the inaugural meeting of the Chapter of the Medical School.

The meeting was held in the Plafond Hall, Collegium Maius, on Wednesday, March 2. The Chapter consists of, inter alia, Andrzej Buła, Marshall of Opole Voivodeship, Norbert Krajczy, Chairman of the Regional Council, Violetta Porowska, Vice-Voivode of Opole Voivodeship, Arkadiusz Wiśniewski, President of Opole, MP Antoni Duda, Marcin Ociepa, Chairman of the City Council of Opole, Rt Rev. Bishop Alfons Nossol, Professor Dorota Simonides, Karol Cebula, entrepreneur, and CEOs of several leading industrial plants in the Opole Region.

The aim of the inaugural meeting of the Chapter was to present what the University had already managed to achieve in the difficult process of the creation of the Medical School, and to discuss plans and hear comments, opinions and advice from the members of the Chapter.
