New Centre of Palaeontology opened at the University of Opole
The European Centre of Palaeontology has been established at the University of Opole.
The Centre was created to broaden the scope of activity of the Department of Paleobiology by conducting wider research and presenting its outcome to the general public.
'It will be an intra-university unit, both research and educational in its character, giving lectures outside academia as well. Our most important aim, in terms of science, is to bring to Opole all the European scientists interested in our research and palaeontological sites and to provide them with proper laboratory conditions for conducting their doctoral or postdoctoral research. The Centre has been established to coordinate these activities' – says Prof. Adam Bodzioch from the Chair of Biosystematics.
'Thanks to the European Centre of Palaeontology it will be easier to establish new contacts with scientists from Holland or Portugal and it will give us better chances to obtain research grants' - says Elżbieta Teschner, PhD student.
