Two FORTHEM workshops on white privilege and inclusive university environment
FORTHEM Diversity and Migration Lab invites partner
universities’ students and staff to participate in online workshops related to
intercultural issues in academia.
Organized by the JGU with funding from the Ministry for Family, Women, Culture
and Integration of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate and carried out by the UO,
the workshops will cover issues of white privilege and the ways of promoting
diversity in the academic environment. The workshops are aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and competences connected with recognizing
majority privileges, exploring participants' own attitudes and exploring the
ways of combating discrimination in the academic environment. Each workshop is
self-contained.
The workshops will be conducted by Dr Marzanna Pogorzelska, a lecturer,
researcher and Rector's proxy for equal treatment at the University of Opole
and Dr Michal Wanke, a lecturer in cultural studies, researcher of marginalized
groups and former coordinator of the Office for International Study Programmes
at the UO.
