On October 3, 2022, the University of Opole hosted representatives from the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. The meeting, attended by the Vice-Rector of Student and Academic Affairs, Professor Izabella Pisarek, was connected with the implementation of an agreement on international cooperation between the Opole Voivodeship and the Province of Tierra del Fuego (as part of the EU Urban and Regional Cooperation Programme) by the Opole Centre for Economic Development.

To date, representatives of the partner regions have participated in a series of online events concerning the exchange of knowledge on the implementation of regional innovation policy and specialised professionalization.

Our guests had an opportunity to learn about the structure and functioning of the University of Opole, as presented by Iryna Shvets from the Office of Marketing and Public Relations.

Prof. Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska gave a presentation entitled Transnational cooperation with European universities for the institutional transition and R&S policies improvement, and Prof. Tomasz Ciesielczuk delivered a lecture entitled Skills for sustainable economy and monitoring natural resources.

The meeting was a unique opportunity to discuss current projects and future plans. The participants declared their willingness to continue cooperation and to carry out further activities for the benefit of the Province of Tierra del Fuego and the UO community.
