Quality awards for academic year 2020-2021
The OU Rector, Prof. Marek Masnyk, and the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Izabella Pisarek presented Quality Awards at the Rector's Office on December 9, 2021.
The awards for activities aimed at
raising the quality of education at the University of Opole were granted to the
following academic teachers:
1st degree award of PLN 5,000 - Anna Maczura, MA (Foreign Languages Centre)
2nd degree awards of PLN 3,000 each - Elwira Bisz, PhD (Faculty of Chemistry), Paulina Ptaszyńska, PhD (Faculty of Arts) and Rev. Prof. Marek Lis (Faculty of Theology)
3rd degree award in the amount of PLN 2,000 – Associate Professor Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska, PhD, DLitt, (Faculty of Philology.
Welcoming his guests, Rector Masnyk said that he had always stressed that the university is a base, teachers and students. “And whether students will come to us depends mostly on you, academic teachers,” said the Rector. “The awards we are presenting today are an attempt to thank you for what you do to improve the quality of education at our university. We are impressed by your work and express our deep gratitude.”
“This year, the choice was extremely difficult, because each of the applications submitted by the deans was very interesting and worthy of attention and reward," said Vice-Rector Prof. Pisarek. “We were very impressed by the achievements of our academic teachers. I sincerely congratulate you on your commitment and the enormous amount of work you have done, and I ask for more!
“I am very surprised and very grateful,” said Anna Maczura, laureate of the first prize. “When I was teaching my foreign language classes remotely on the You Tube channel, I sometimes had a feeling that I was alone, that nobody was watching me. However, it soon turned out that a lot of people recognised me, that I received nice emails, and that I was appreciated by my superiors too. Thank you very much!

The money allocated for the Quality Awards comes from the funds earmarked for teaching activities and its amount is specified in the material and financial plan of the University of Opole. In 2021, it amounts to PLN 15,000 from the teaching activity budget and PLN 1,000 from the funds of the vice-rector for academic and student affairs.
