Rector Marek Masnyk received Education Excellence Certificate for Sociology

The precious document was presented on 23 October 2021 during the congress of CRASP in Gdynia. The Education Excellence Certificate in the category "Open to the world - excellence in international cooperation" for the first- and second-cycle sociology programme was presented to the rector of the UO, Prof. Marek Masnyk by the president of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA), Prof. Stanisław Wrzosek.

The certificate was granted in December 2020, after the PKA's visit to the Faculty of Social Sciences, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic the presentation of documents to the rectors of universities teaching the awarded programmes took place only now.

“This is a valuable distinction”, said Rector Masnyk with pleasure.  “Only six universities, twenty degree programmes, and among them our sociology received it.  We are in a narrow, elite group, which gives us great satisfaction," he stressed.

Let us remind: our sociology was among eight programmes awarded in the category "Open to the world - excellence in international cooperation", taught at such renowned universities as AGH University of Science and Technology, Warsaw University of Technology or Warsaw School of Economics.

PKA granted certificates in three more categories: The PKA awarded certificates in three more categories: Excellent degree programme - excellence in providing education; Student-cantered- excellence in supporting students' development; Partner for development - excellence in cooperation with social and economic stakeholders.

The Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee stated that "the programmes awarded with the certificates received a positive programme evaluation for 6 years, supported by good practices in the field of education quality or documented, regular achievements of students and graduates".
