The FIT FORTHEM team at the University of Jyväskylä (JYU) organized a workshop: Science as a civic skill – Citizen Science in schools on April 27, 2021, where we discussed a relatively new approach to build a citizen science agenda in social sciences and humanities.

Now, we invite you to join us on May 31, 2021, 1-3pm CET (2-4 pm EET), for a follow-up discussion organized by the JYU and the University of Opole.

In this meeting, we aim to build a European level alliance for a Citizen Science project based on FORTHEM European University Alliance members and private, public and civic university external partners.

The two-hour event kicks off with an introduction prepared by the Secondary School No. 1 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland about the Citizen science pilot project that they conducted under the scientific supervision of the University of Opole during the 2021 spring term. Students and teachers will demonstrate how they conducted the pilot project and what outputs they developed in multilingualism research.

After the introduction, the University of Jyväskylä Research and Innovation Services will present some opportunities the Horizon Europe Programme offers for a Citizen Science project on multilingualism in schools. A special focus will be put on the participation of university external partners. Following participant feedback, the 31 May event will contain more slots and time for questions and discussion. New participants are welcome!

Please register for the event through this link by 28 May 2021.
