Visit from Java
A delegation from Airlangga University located in Surabaya,
East Java, Indonesia, visited the University of Opole on October 18, 2017. The
Head of International Programme Division, Dr Irfan Wahyudi and the Head
of the Office of Academic Development, Dr Syahrur Marta Dwi Susilo
were invited by Professor Janusz Słodczyk, Vice-Rector for Research and
Finance.
The delegation visited the Office for International Study Programmes, Erasmus + Projects Office, and also met with the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Joanna Czaplińska and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Łucja Piwowar-Bagińska. The Indonesian delegation visited the University campus and Collegium Maius.
The full-day stay and talks will result in the signing of the cooperation agreement, a joint application for Jean Monnet programme, and student and staff exchanges. Airlangga University is the second-oldest in Indonesia and is highly ranked in world university rankings. The visit was instigated by Arif Siswanto, a student of Intercultural Communication and graduate of the University of Surabaya, who recommended the University of Opole to the authorities of Airlangga University. During their European tour the delegation visited Opole, Warszawa and Prague.
