Two Million Zlotys for University Hospital
The Board of Opole Voivodeship has donated to the University of Opole 1 million 880 thousand zlotys, earmarked for projects aimed at raising the quality of patient care in the University Hospital.
- This is a symbolic moment in a symbolic place - emphasised Professor Masnyk, Rector of the UO. - The support for the University Hospital is a matter of great importance for the Medical School.
- The money will be used to improve the functioning of the ophthalmic ward, anaesthesiology and intensive therapy ward, and general surgery ward. It will also finance the prevention of colon cancer programme and the comprehensive care for the mother and child programme - enumerated Deputy Marshal Roman Kolek, who is responsible for health service in the Opole Voivodeship.
- I am very impressed with what I have seen here today, - said Marshal Andrzej Buła, who visited Collegium Medicum. - The money in the budget of the Voivodeship Executive Board belongs to all the inhabitants of the Opole region and I am so glad that the money transferred to the University of Opole and Medical School has been spent so well. The first million zlotys, donated some time ago, funded the preparation of the documentation of Collegium Medium, and now we can support the University Hospital with funds from the Regional Operational Programme.
- This donation as a complement to the project investment of the University Hospital is a beautiful gesture, - stressed Prof. Wiesława Piątkowska-Stepaniak, Vice-Rector for Development and Administration. – Thank you for this gesture and thank you for seeing the Medical School and the University Hospital as whole. Any money that supports the development of the hospital is priceless.
