We are striving to make Poland the driving force for Europe not just an assembly plant. We focus on innovation and cooperation between science and business. I think that we cannot lose, said Violetta Porowska, Vice-Voivode of the Opole Voivodeship, before signing the Cluster Agreement in the Plafond Hall in the University of Opole.
The agreement pertains to the establishment of the Genetic Cluster - GENOCLUSTER. It was signed by five parties: the University of Opole, represented by Professor Wiesława Piątkowska-Stepaniak, Institute for the Development of Medical Market, represented by its President Jarosław Płoszka, Diabetica Company from Nysa, represented by its President Winicjusz Filipow, Science and Technology Park in Opole, represented by its President Jarosław Mamala, and the Dogonić Dystans Foundation from Moszna, represented by its President Kamila Etela.
Present at the signing ceremony were also Violetta Porowska, Vice-Voievode of the Opole Voivodeship and Professor Adam Latała, Head of the Chair of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.
The Genetic Cluster GENOCLUSTER will
focus on supporting innovations in product and services technologies in the
area of medical and health sciences, coordinating the cooperation between public and private
institutions of higher education in the above mentioned area. The Cluster will also integrate the cooperation
of enterprises, especially SMEs in the region in order to carry out projects
which are too demanding for single entities in terms of technology, money and
research. It will organise trainings, meetings and negotiating teams for the
members of the Cluster.
