Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, thinks that the idea of establishing a medical school at the University of Opole is reasonable and needed. He approached the University plans with great attention and kindliness. The project of creating a medical study programme at the University of Opole was presented to Minister Jarosław Gowin  by the University delegation: Professor Stanisław S. Nicieja, Rector of the University of Opole, Professor Wiesława Piątkowska-Stepaniak, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Administration and Professor Marek Masnyk, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs.
