Our graduates - Ambassadors of the University of Opole - represent different professions and interests, sometimes live in exotic places, but they all have one thing in common: they graduated from our university and still have an enduring fondness for it. We introduced them to you in more detail on 18 March 2021, during the International Alumni Gala held at the Student Cultural Centre, which was attended online by 21 of our alumni from around the world. The Gala will be opened by the UO Rector, Prof. Marek Masnyk.

The Gala was broadcast on the university FB. Now it can be seen  HERE.

“I welcome you all very warmly to our meeting today," said the Rector of the Opole University, Professor Marek Masnyk. “On the occasion of the recent University Day, I did some summing up and it turns out that 85 thousand students have graduated from our University over the past 27 years. They pursue various professions, achieve success in various fields. Some have moved abroad, now living on almost all continents, and it is to them that we wish to dedicate today's gala. Unfortunately, we could not prepare it in a regular way, so we meet online today to listen to the stories of twenty Ambassadors of the University of Opole.”

The gala was hosted by Anna Maczura and Szymon Wolf. They presented the profiles of the ambassadors, supported by short films featuring the people who nominated our graduates for the title of UO Ambassadors. The ambassadors themselves were present with us online. They warmly spoke of their studies at the University of Opole, and above all of the people they had met here.

“The University of Opole is simply my family,” said Daniil Kononenko, who currently lives in Finland, where he works at the Ukrainian Embassy (he graduated in International Relations from the Faculty of Political Science and Social Communication in 2015).

The "International Alumni Club" programme, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the International Alumni Programme is implemented at the University of Opole. "

The aim of the project is to establish long-term cooperation with foreign graduates of the University of Opole, to honour their achievements and successes, and to create conditions conducive to using their knowledge and experience in the process of education and career development of current UO students.

In the definition of the project, a foreign graduate is a graduate of the first, second or third cycle studies from abroad or a Polish graduate who went abroad after graduating from studies in Poland and is based there permanently.

More and more people are joining the project. Graduates of the University of Opole achieve professional success in various countries in Europe and the world. It will soon be possible to view the profiles of our graduates on the alumni.uni.opole.pl website, which will be launched shortly.
