Dimension and Problems of Contemporary Nursing
The conference was organized by the Opole branch of the Polish Nursing Society.
The conference was opened by the Chief Nurse of the University Clinical Hospital in Opole and the President of the Management Board of the PTP Branch in Opole, Maria Grzeczna. - I would like to thank Prof. Wiesława Piątkowska-Stepaniak for taking honorary patronage over our conference and for her help and support - she said.
She also thanked the Director of the UH, Dariusz Madera, and the Director of Medicine, Andrzej Kucharski, PhD, for their help in organizing the conference.
Professor Wiesława Piątkowska-Stepaniak emphasized that the profession of nurse is extremely demanding, but at the same time terribly underestimated. 'It is a profession that should enjoy exceptional authority both in the medical community and in society,' she said.
'In connection with the planned merger of our Institute of Medicine with the State Medical School in Opole, we will fight for such prestige,' - she emphasized.
The conference was addressed to nurses, practitioners, educators, health care specialists and students. The main speakers included representatives of Collegium Medicum in Kraków.
During the meeting the following topics were discussed: 'Work satisfaction and professional burnout among nurses working in hospitals covered by the RN4CAST project', and 'Chronic fatigue syndrome and the level of empathy among professionally active nurses'.
The conference was held on 19 November 2018 in the Blue Hall of Collegium Maius.
