With Erasmus+ in USA
On 11-15 September 2018, Prof. Izabella Pisarek, Vice-Rector for Student and Academic Affairs, and Dr Marzanna Pogorzelska (Institute of English Philology) paid a visit to Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas) as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
The visit, which was the result of several years of cooperation initiated by Dr Pogorzelska, was filled with lectures and workshops on intercultural communication, as well as meetings with the authorities, lecturers and students of the American university.
During the visit, Prof. Izabella Pisarek, on behalf of the UO, signed a cooperation agreement with the authorities of Kansas State University, which opens up new opportunities for mutual contacts, both in the current fields - education and teacher training and in the fields connected with agriculture. A high level of education, dynamic student organizations, and experience in conducting an active policy of equal treatment in a culturally diverse environment are undoubtedly the advantages of the American university, and they may inspire our actions here in Opole.
Some specific good practices worth implementing at the University of Opole include broadening the offer of courses covering various practical classes for UO students and the wider non-academic environment, as well as methods (specific forms of debates and discussions) improving the diagnosis of problems and the flow of information between all the units of our University.
