New Partners in Cambodia
- With the support of the Erasmus programme, we are opening up to new and new fields of study," says Prof. Dr. Janusz Słodczyk, Deputy Rector of the Office for Science and Finance. - The effects of our contacts with China and Indonesia are already clearly visible in this year's edition of Summer University, there will be also many more students from different countries in the English-speaking study programmes taught at the University, and we are looking for more, - he adds.
There are about 130 universities of different types in Cambodia, but Paññāsāstra University in Phnom Pehn is one of the best. Since the beginning of its existence, i.e. since 1997, the university has focused on education in English. So practically all the staff and students speak this language; only two fields of study are taught in Khmer.
Nine faculties offer a wide range of areas of study, including economics, law, history, mathematics, political science, psychology, architecture, pedagogy and journalism.
In Opole we have already had the first five students from Cambodia who studied at the University for one semester.
- At the University in Cambodia I will give several lectures on city planning, and on behalf of the UO I have signed an agreement with the authorities of the university. I am also discussing the potential benefits of cooperation for both parties, - explains Prof. Janusz Słodczyk.
