New Partner in China

Thanks to the intensive work of Dr. Stankomir Nicieja and the visits of the Vice-Rector, Professor Janusz Słodczyk, to Asia, relations with Chinese universities are flourishing and developing rapidly. On Monday, 9 July 2018 the University of Opole was visited by a delegation headed by Prof. Minqiang Hu, Chancellor of Nanjing Normal University.

Colleagues from China were welcomed by the Vice-Rector, Professor Izabella Pisarek. The cooperation agreement was signed and then discussed in detail. Both universities will certainly start a programme of student and academic staff exchange as well as the cooperation within the framework of summer language schools. It is also planned to start sport cooperation - gold medalists from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro play on our new partner's women's volleyball team, and ECO Uni Opole, a university team in the same discipline, is celebrating its successes in league championships. The cooperation can be very interesting and fruitful.

Professor Joanna Czaplińska, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, and Dr Michał Wanke, who coordinates the work of the Department for International Studies also took part in the talks on the part of the UO.
