Piastonalia 2018

Between May 21 and 27, Opole will be even more vibrant with student life than ever before. A week of fun, with brilliant artists and a multitude of accompanying events.

In line with tradition, the Student Cultural Spring is organized by the two largest universities in the Opole region. This year it will be the Opole University of Technology  to initiate the celebration, and later the "power over the city" will be taken over by the students of the University of Opole.

 'We invite everyone to have fun. One thing is certain: we will not be able to complain about boredom,' - says Izabela Kaczyńska, the President of the Student Union of the University of Opole.

Picnic in Turawa

The Piastonalia celebrations will be opened with the Picnic in Turawa (Turawskie Lake, 1 Biwakowa Street). The Student Council of the University of Opole has planned numerous sports activities. Of course, there will be a bonfire and music. Additionally, there is a free campsite for all participants. The only thing they need to take with them is a tent and good energy. The event is scheduled to take place on 19-20 May.

Sports Day and Blood Donation

As every year, there is also Sports Day (22 May), organized in cooperation with the Academic Sports Association of the UO, or Blood Donation Action (22 May). 'We are proving in this way that Piastonalia is not only about concerts. It is also a great time for sport integration, a joint trip or an event during which we can help someone and share what we have the most valuable, that is our blood,' said Dawid Machecki, member of the Board of Student Union for promotion and information.

Students' Parade

For years now, the Grand Breakfast has also attracted a great deal of attention. The Student Union of the University of Opole prepares a tasty meal for students. This is a good time to gain strength for new attractions - emphasizes Izabela Kaczyńska. The event is scheduled for May 23rd at 10 a.m.

Students' parade will also take place on the same day. Students will go in a colourful procession from the Campus 1 of the Opole University of Technology, come to the UO campus and together they will go towards the Market Square. There, they will receive the key to the city from the Mayor - the symbol of power over Opole.

This year, students of the University of Opole are preparing a unique event. During the Piastonalia they want to gather the biggest Juwenalia band in Poland, which will perform a song of the band Hey.
