Nomination for the Polish Intelligent Development Award for Dr Elwira Bish
Dr Elwira Bisz was nominated for the award in the category of Science and Technology for her research project entitled "Designing new cross-coupling methods involving metals commonly found in nature - an effective way to sustainable synthesis".
Elwira Bisz has a PhD in chemical sciences and specialises in organometallic chemistry. She is a co-author of 21 scientific articles in renowned international journals (total IF = 106), and the manager of NCN project worth 783 600 PLN. At the University of Opole, she is employed at the Faculty of Chemistry, where she has been heading her research group since 2019. Her research focuses on the development of new methods of conducting organometallic reactions, with the emphasis on developing new catalysts, based on cheap and environmentally friendly metals The long-term goal of this research is to develop new catalytic transformations leading to an effective and efficient construction of organic molecules with a high application potential, among others, in obtaining medicines or in applying them in materials chemistry.
