Development strategy of the UO in the years 2021-2027

The University of Opole is a leading institution of higher education in Opole and the region. Like any organization, also the University functions in a changing and demanding environment. The answer to the challenges of today is the development and successive implementation of a new model of university governance.

A development strategy is the basis for building a new model of management at the University of Opole. The present development strategy of the University covers the years 2021-2027. This period is in line with the planned time frame for the implementation of the research programme Horizon Europe, scheduled for the years 2021-2027. On the one hand, the development strategy, based on a comprehensive strategic diagnosis related to the University's development policy and, on the other hand, includes the most important (strategic) objectives of the University of Opole and the ways of achieving them.

The development strategy of the UO constitutes the core of the university's strategic plan for the years 2021-2027, which is further composed of:

(1) Development strategies of faculties,

(2) Development strategies of institutes,

(3) Administrative support for development strategies of the university, faculties and institutes..

The strategic goals and objectives related to the Doctoral School of the University of Opole, as well as the functioning of the University of Opole Library, the University of Opole Press, the University Centre for Knowledge and Technology Transfer and the University Hospital are also important in the development strategy of the University of Opole in the years 2021-2027.

The key initiatives in the implementation of the university's development strategy are strategic projects. Examples of the most important strategic initiatives implemented at the University of Opole, which are an important component of the development strategy of the University of Opole in the years 2021-2027, are three strategic projects: (1) Integrated Development Programme of the University of Opole, (2) International Alliance of European Universities "FORTHEM" and (3) International Research and Development Centre for Agriculture and Agro-Food Industry - Revitalization of the Royal Academy of Sciences in Prószków.
