The statue of Czesław Niemen by the well-known sculptor Prof. Marian Molenda from the Faculty of Art stands in the artists' square on the University Hill and is its real gem. It was unveiled in September 2007.

Niemen's figure is over two metres tall, the singer is leaning against his guitar, looking ahead (the project of the monument was approved by Niemen's wife Małgorzata). Prof. Molenda decided to make the monument slightly larger than in nature so that it would be clearly visible on the University Hill, next to two beautiful birches and against the background of the surrounding buildings

However, before the monument was created, the artist worked a lot sketching and preparing a small model of the monument. And it is this model, about half a metre tall, which the sculptor has refreshed in recent days, that you can bid for as part of this year's finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The sculpture will be presented with a special certificate signed by Prof. Molenda.

Make your bids now! Invite Czesław Niemen and his music to your home while supporting the goal of this year's Orchestra: providing children with the best possible specialist eye care. Have a good look and bid!

The winner of the auction will receive a statuette from the Rector of the UO, Prof. Marek Masnyk, during a joint ceremonial dinner.
