Due to the growing epidemic of Covid-19 in the city of Opole and following Regulation No. 142/2020 of the Rector of the University of Opole of 23 October 2020 on the temporary limitation of the functioning of the University of Opole in the field of education in connection with the preventing, counteracting and combating of Covid-19 and for the sake of health safety of visitors and employees of the Main Library and specialist libraries, we recommend to maintain special sanitary rules.

From October 26 to November 10, 2020, the opening hours of the libraries will be shortened and airing breaks will be held from 11.00 to 11.30 and from 13.00 to 13.30.

On Saturdays October 31 and November 7, all libraries of the UO will be closed.

The Library of the Faculty of Philology and the Library of the Institute of Psychology will be closed from October 26th to November 2nd. Therefore, all reading needs serviced by the above mentioned libraries and inquiries regarding the registration of publications in the Knowledge Base at should be directed to biblioteka@uni.opole.pl

Sanitary safety regulations

1. Readers coming to collect or return books, according to current SSI [GIS] guidelines, are asked to cover their mouth and nose.

2. The use of disinfectants is also recommended.

3. There will be only one person in the lending area. Other readers will wait for their turn outside the lending area at recommended safe distances.

4. Returns of borrowed books will be accepted at marked points, which are located adjacent to the lending areas of the UO libraries. The books will be collected according to a special procedure, which will separate the returned books from the rest of the book collection.

5. In the Main Library Reading Room there will be 10 work places for readers.

6. In specialist libraries there will be 2, 3 or 4 places to work for readers, depending on the size of the premises.

7. All library collections will be delivered to readers by library staff. Free access to collections in the reading rooms is suspended until further notice.

8. Publications used by readers on site in reading rooms will be put on hold for a 3-day quarantine. The reader may request a reservation and make the same collections available on subsequent days.

9. The reader may make a telephone booking of a place in the reading room for a chosen day and time. [List of reading rooms and telephone numbers]  

Registration for libraries

We invite all first year students to report to the Main Library or to the selected specialist library to activate your library account. The library account can be activated once the Aleph library system acquires student data from the USOS system.

Student's electronic ID card is also a library card. You can log into the library account using the ID card number.

Borrowing, returning and renewing

In the case of questions or doubts concerning the library's account status or arrears, please contact the Main Library Lending Service email: wypozyczalnia@uni.opole.pl or by phone: 77 401 6143 (lending service) 77 401 6137 (reading room).

INFORMATION SERVICES

During the time of restricted access to the library premises we provide assistance and services in the following areas:

- searching for information in online catalogues and scientific databases,

- making digital copies of fragments of indicated works from the University Library's collection, according to the provisions of the Copyright and Related Rights Act),

- registering publications in the UO Knowledge Base on an ongoing basis,

- developing bibliometric analyses.

 In view of these circumstances, the UO Library recommends its users to use electronic resources, including:
