50th anniversary of opening economics programmes at our university

Fifty years ago, the first economics programmes were opened at the Higher School of Education in Opole. We will celebrate this anniversary on 10 October 2025, now at the University of Opole, part of which is the Faculty of Economics.

Fifty years ago, the first economics programmes were opened at the Higher School of Education in Opole. We will celebrate this anniversary on 10 October 2025, now at the University of Opole, part of which is the Faculty of Economics.

At noon, a panel ‘Quo vadis, oeconomia!’ will be held. It will be moderated by Prof. Bogusław Nierenberg. Speakers will include: Prof. Romuald Jończy, Prof. Elżbieta Mączyńska, Prof. Krzysztof Jajuga, and Prof. Jacek Karwowski.

The anniversary celebration will be open to everyone – from current and former employees, through students, to alumni of economics programmes at the University of Opole and friends of the Faculty of Economics.
