The trip to Georgia, which lasted from 8 to 13 December 2024, was part of the project ‘Open University of Opole – building internationalisation potential’. It was attended by staff members of the UO’s Office of Education and Quality Assurance, and the trip was made possible thanks to support from the ‘Welcome to Poland’ programme of the National Agency for Academic Exchange.
The main objectives of the trip were to establish cooperation with Georgian educational institutions, promote the University of Opole’s teaching offer and strengthen relations with the local Polish diaspora. Therefore, one of the highlights of the visit was a meeting at the St. Queen Jadwiga Polish School in Tbilisi.
Its participants stressed the importance of educational cooperation between Poland and Georgia. Our representatives also discussed what the University of Opole can offer to Polish youth interested in studying in Poland. They spoke about fields of study, scholarship opportunities and admission rules.
The visit was not only an opportunity to discuss the educational future of young Poles living in Georgia, but also to emphasise the value of international cooperation. The trip brought many productive contacts and opened up new opportunities, especially in terms of supporting Polish youth and attracting students from Georgia.
‘The University of Opole is further strengthening its position as a modern university open to students from all over the world. We are looking forward to further effects of these actions, which we hope will bear fruit already in the coming academic year,’ – concludes the team of the Office of Education and Quality Assurance.
