On research cooperation and science during Forthem meeting

Good practices in research cooperation and the conduct of scientific activities by universities in Europe were the topic of the latest meeting of the Forthem Alliance at the University of Opole. The event lasted from 13 to 15 November 2024.

It was one of many networking meetings for representatives of the Forthem alliance universities. Its programme included several thematic sessions, with speakers including Prof. Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska, Prof. Anna Poliwoda, Karolina Młotek, Marek Liśkiewicz, Michael Ormshaw, Clelia Dispenza, Monika Mielnik-Kurek and Robert Radziej

Over these three days, there was also time for integration between the project participants. The participants not only met in the Senate Hall of the Collegium Maius and the lecture theatres of our university, but were also shown around the UO’s International Centre for Research and Development, and were given a tour of Opole.

Representatives from the University of Latvia in Riga (Latvia), the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) and the University of Burgundy (France) participated in the meeting on site, while a representative from the University of Palermo (Italy) participated remotely. We also hosted partners from Ukraine, who are participating in the project ‘Supporting cooperation between the University of Opole and Ukrainian universities within the framework of the Forthem 2024 alliance’ of the NAWA organisation.
