Indian lawyers visited University of Opole

The Netherlands, Germany and Poland are the countries visited by law students and their teachers thanks to the ‘Academia-Industry Experience in the European Union’ (AIEEU) programme. On 11 June 2025, they met at the Collegium Maius UO, where they received certificates of participation in the project.

AIEEU participants visited the most important legal institutions in various parts of the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. In Opole, these included the Criminal Division of the Regional Court and the Chamber of Attorneys-at-Law. They also attended a lecture by Paweł Tyła, a lawyer, on the application of criminal law in Poland.

The awarding of certificates concluded the entire visit, which marked the beginning of a broader Polish-Indian cooperation. On 29 May 2025, the University of Opole concluded an agreement with the Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF) to strengthen long-term academic and professional cooperation between India and Poland and other European countries.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Opole, Prof. Jacek Lipok, and the President of the IEEF, Dr Pradeep Kumar. Currently, the cooperation is being developed by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Elżbieta Szymańska-Czaplak.

The cooperatoion includes joint research initiatives and scientific publications, international conferences and scientific forums, international study curricula, long-term partnerships with Indian universities, student and academic mobility programmes, and interdisciplinary seminars and professional training courses.

In this way, with the support of the IEEF, the University of Opole wants to deepen its academic and cultural involvement in India. One of the tools that will be used for this purpose is the CET-India exam. It will make it easier to recruit Indian students to English language study programmes in Opole in a fair and transparent way.

The project coordinators will also introduce a programme of traineeships and professional internships. Thanks to this, UO students will gain valuable experience in Poland and India, increasing their chances of employment and overall readiness for a professional career. It will also strengthen their intercultural competences and open doors to new labour markets for Polish and Indian companies.

By cooperating with the IEEF, the University of Opole confirms its commitment to global academic integration, intercultural exchange and innovative education models. This agreement not only strengthens the international profile of the university, but also increases Poland’s role in Indo-European educational diplomacy.
