UO Faculty of Medicine best in Poland. Historic success in Medical Final Examination

In the spring session of 2026, students of the Faculty of Medicine of the UO achieved the best results in Poland among students taking the Medical Final Examination for the first time.

The examination was held at the beginning of February, and today we learned the results. A total of 141 students from the Faculty of Medicine took the Medical Final Examination for the first time, and all of them passed. The best result achieved by our students was 187 points, the lowest was 123 points, and ultimately they achieved an average result of 165.39 points – unmatched among all examinees. Second in the examination ranking, Łazarski University, based in Warsaw, achieved an average score of 161.02 points.

‘We have reached a level where it is basically impossible to present the University of Opole’s Faculty of Medicine in a better light. This gives us great satisfaction, but it should be emphasised that this is a joint success and the merit of the current and previous university authorities, the faculty authorities and, above all, the teachers and students, whose efforts have translated into exam results,’ commented the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Jacek Jóźwiak, MD, PhD, Assoc. Prof.

‘The results of this examination confirm that the initiatives launched many years ago were extremely well-founded, have been properly implemented, and have resulted in the highest quality of education,’ added the Dean.

The Medical Final Examination concludes six years of medical studies. Its results reflect the level of education of future physicians at individual universities.

In 2023 and 2024, our medical students ranked fifth in the ranking of first-time examinees. In the spring of 2025, the result was even better, as they took second place in the same classification.

It is also worth noting that in this year’s examination, the UO Faculty of Medicine took third place in the overall classification.
