Impact of international events on science. FORTHEM organises online event

Examining the impact of recent international events on scientific research is the topic of an online meeting organised by the University of Burgundy, a partner of the University of Opole in the FORTHEM Alliance. The event will take place on October 16, 2025.

The meeting is intended to serve the development of the pilot programme ‘Choose Europe for Science’. It will be an opportunity for regional partners to have discussions with representatives of the Alliance universities. It will bring together partner organisations and other target stakeholder groups. This should result in even better cooperation and further development of the research and innovation programme.

Participants can join the event as members of the audience and establish contact with participants from other countries. They may also submit their abstracts and participate in the presentation. The topics envisaged:

  • Experiences of American researchers – the organisers have invited American researchers affiliated with one of the nine partner universities to share their experiences from the last academic year, particularly with regard to recent international events that have affected their work or academic environment.
  • Research proposals – The FORTHEM Alliance supports the development of research projects in its regions. External partners and researchers are invited to submit proposals for projects seeking partners as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Call for action 2025 launched by the European Commission.

Anyone interested in participating and/or collaborating should complete the form available until 7 October 2025 at the following link: FORTHEM for the Region Online event – October 16th, 2025. For enquiries, please contact us via e-mail: forthem@ube.fr.
