Thanks to an agreement signed on December 15, 2021 by the UO Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Izabella Pisarek, and the Rector of the Opole University of Technology, Prof. Marcin Lorenz, students of the UO can learn Mandarin in the Confucius Institute for free. The agreement was signed at the premises of the Confucius Institute at the Opole University of Technology.

Until recently, UO students could use the services of Chinese teachers at the Confucius Institute on a commercial basis. Now, the agreement concluded between the two universities will allow them to study for free.

Prof. Lorenz emphasized that the new agreement is another sign of closer cooperation between the university he heads and the University of Opole.

Prof. Pisarek is very pleased with the signed agreement. “The offer of the Confucius Institute is broad, very interesting and it will be an excellent supplement to the Chinese classes conducted at the Faculty of Philology," she said.
