Despite the epidemic and previously unheard of administrative challenges, the Diversity and Migration lab is pursuing research co-operation within the FORTHEM alliance. On Monday and Tuesday, 10th and 11th of May 2021, we invite you to a meeting on the progress of the lab's activities conducted by colleagues from the University of Palermo: at 3 p.m. and at 9 a.m. respectively. A detailed agenda is available at:

The Diversity and Migration Lab carries out interdisciplinary research on migration from an intersectional perspective. The team is composed of lawyers, sociologists, cultural studies scholars, experts, linguists, ethics scholars and visual artists, but the formula is open and experimental, so there is still a possibility to join the ongoing projects.

We would like to draw students' attention to the upcoming winter school in Jyvaskala ('Winter school on Belonging and Non-Belonging in Europe') and the idea of 'open space for students', about which Roberta Solima (UniPa) and Marcin Deutschmann (UO) will speak on Tuesday. The latter is the aftermath of the FORTHEM short mobility week, "Prospering in Academia", organised at the UO.

Researchers should be interested in a publication on migration, which is currently being prepared by Professor Francesco Lo Piccolo (UniPa; Monday), a special panel of the conference in Opole (Monday), and a research and art project, 'Migrant Media Collection', which will be presented by Dr Michał Wanke (Tuesday).

To attend, please register at this address:
If you have any questions about the meeting and the activities of the 'Lab', Michał Wanke (, coordinator of the Lab at the UO, will be happy to answer them.
