Inauguration of Academic Year
With a due academic ceremony but without the participation of guests, the inauguration of the academic year 2020/2021 will take place on 6 October, at 11 o'clock, and will be streamed live on the Internet.
The extraordinary formula of this extremely important ceremony for the academic community has been forced by the coronavirus pandemic; for safety reasons, the group of participants has, regretfully, been significantly reduced.
Nevertheless, we warmly invite the academic community, newly admitted students and their parents, and friends of the University of Opole, to celebrate these special moments with us via the Internet. We have prepared a broadcast for you - the link to it will be posted on our website a moment before the celebration begins.
Our invitation is on behalf of His Magnificence Rector of the University of Opole, Professor Marek Masnyk, who will lead the ceremony and present the report for the academic year 2019/2020.
The ceremony is planned in the Student Cultural Centre. Only senators and deans of the University of Opole, the colour party of the UO, and one first-year student from each of the twelve faculties of the UO taking the solemn oath on behalf of all the newly admitted students will be present at the ceremony.
The inaugural lecture entitled "COVID-19: shock therapy?" will be delivered by Prof. Paweł Kafarski, an honorary doctor of the University of Opole.
The Mass for the intention of the academic community will be held in the seminar church in Drzymały Street, on 5 October 2020, at 6 p.m.
Dear Friends, join us spiritually and virtually!
