Professor Daniel Pietrek, Vice-Rector for Research, represents the University of Opole at a meeting of the Steering Committee of the FORTHEM Alliance of European Universities. The meeting is hosted by the University of Latvia in Riga.
The event started on May 19, 2026 and is scheduled to last three days. This is another meeting of the FORTHEM Alliance’s key decision-making bodies, following the FORTHEM Presidency meeting held at the UO from 20 to 24 April.
The participants of the meeting in Riga discuss the further course of action and priorities for the Alliance in the coming months and years. They also discuss the FORTHEM’s joint communication strategy and the further integration of the partner universities’ IT ecosystems.
‘This is an extremely important and fruitful meeting, which has enabled us to identify specific areas for further cooperation and synergy between the partner universities in new fields,’ says Prof. Pietrek.
The next meeting of the Steering Committee is scheduled for September.
