Dr Pradeep Kumar has participated in International Teaching Week in Vilnius

Dr Pradeep Kumar from the Faculty of Philology, University of Opole, took part in the International Teaching Week at the Faculty of Economics, Vilniaus Kolegija in Vilnius. The visit, which took place from 2 to 4 March 2026, was part of a project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) entitled ‘Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Educational Development: Catalyzing Social and Economic Growth in Germany and Beyond (STRATCOMM).

During the teaching week, Dr Kumar ran a workshop and training programme entitled ‘The European Union’s Economic Challenges and the Quest for Strategic Autonomy in 2026’. The workshop focused on the current economic and geopolitical challenges facing the European Union and our academic highlighted the importance of strategic communication, economic resilience and policy coordination in an increasingly complex global environment. The meeting encouraged students and academics to discuss the future of European economic cooperation and Europe’s strategic positioning.

The visit was part of broader activities under the STRATCOMM project, which aims to support the internationalisation of higher education, promote academic mobility and strengthen cooperation between European institutions. The project is being implemented with the support of the DAAD and in cooperation with the Hochschule Mittweida – University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

The visit helped to establish new contacts with Vilniaus Kolegija, Vilnius University Business School in Vilnius and Kauno Kolegija in Kaunas, where Dr Kumar discussed with members of the academic and administrative staff existing joint initiatives and the vision for future cooperation. Our scholar was also invited to several other events: the ‘Connecting Minds, Empowering Futures: Data, Diversity, and a Digital Europe’ conference (13–17 April 2026), International Teaching Week at Vilnius University Business School (4–8 May 2026) and International Teaching Week at Vilnius University (11–15 May 2026).

In addition to his academic work at the University of Opole, Dr Pradeep Kumar is also the founder and president of the Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF). The Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Opole, aimed at supporting the university’s internationalisation strategy, developing global academic cooperation and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Through this collaboration, the Foundation contributes to the development of international academic networks and facilitates the establishment of partnerships between European and global institutions.

Dr Kumar’s recent activities in Lithuania demonstrate that academic mobility and institutional cooperation can effectively bring together current and potential partners within a short space of time. Such initiatives support the internationalisation of the University of Opole, whilst also contributing to the broader objectives of the STRATCOMM project, namely strengthening international academic cooperation, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting sustainable educational and socio-economic development in Europe and beyond.
