The official signing of the partnership agreement of the members of the FORTHEM alliance of European Universities took place in the office of  Prof. Marek Masnyk, Rector of the UO, on December 3, 2019. In this way, the cooperation, which had lasted for several months, was formally sealed.

Each of the seven rectors of the universities being a part of the FORTHEM alliance signed in recent days copies of the agreement, which will now be exchanged by e-mail between the partners of the alliance.

- We have been working hard on the preparation of the project for over a year, now we are embarking on the period of its implementation, which is a great challenge for us - said Prof. Marek Masnyk. - Joining the network of European Universities, participation in the FORTHEM alliance is a huge challenge, but also a great prestige for our university, prestige that is an obligation. I am glad that our colleagues from the Faculty of Political Science and Social Communication managed to obtain such an important and prestigious grant.

- The agreement covers seven areas of cooperation between universities that are members of the alliance, with reference to the European law - explains the project coordinator on behalf of the UO, Dr Barbara Curyło from the Faculty of Political Science and Social Communication. - The work is already underway. The University of Opole will deal with, among others, the broadly understood issue of "Experiencing Europe", establishing one of the seven research laboratories planned in the consortium, in which university scientists, students and external experts will be working - she adds.

Each of the universities - members of the consortium - will also be responsible for one of the seven areas; our university will conduct work related to building common structures.
